Direct Deposit

Managing money is easier when your net paycheck, Social Security, or pension check is automatically deposited into your savings or checking account. With Direct Deposit:

  • Your money is available immediately. No driving to the credit union office to make your deposit. While you are eating lunch, playing golf, or having fun with your children, your money is deposited in your account and is ready and waiting for your next need.
  • Your money is safe. You don't have to carry your check or large sums of cash around with you. It is deposited right into your account and ready for you.
  • You comply with government regulations. All federal payments are now issued by electronic funds transfer (EFT), also known as Direct Deposit. If you will be receiving veteran's benefits, Social Security, military pensions or salaries, or any other government payment, you'll need Direct Deposit. Check with the agency that issues your check to see what requirements you need to meet (there are some special circumstances that do not require Direct Deposit).

Direct Deposit provides the convenience, security, and government compliance that you need to effectively manage your money. In many cases, you will need to know your financial institution's ABA number as well as your account number in order to set up direct deposit.

Payroll Deduction

Have your money split up between your savings, checking, IRA, or loan with payroll deduction!  Simply designate the amounts of monthly payments that you want deducted from your pay, and your payments are made. Just determine how much goes into each of your different accounts, and it will be done automatically when your direct deposit comes in. It's easy, convenient, and free!

Automated Clearing House Service

The credit union is a member of the Automated Clearing House (ACH) and can accept direct credits or debits for member accounts from any participating corporation. In many cases, it involves the credit union's ABA number and your account number.

Shared Branching

Shared branching is a cooperative network of credit unions that have joined together and created shared service centers across the country. By sharing facilities, credit unions can offer greater convenience for members to access their accounts at many locations just as if they were at their home credit union.

Members can enter any shared service center and conduct a range of transaction services, such as:

  • Cash checks
  • Make deposits and withdrawals
  • Make loan payments
  • Make transfers between accounts
  • Purchase Money Orders, Travelers Checks and Official Checks
  • Obtain cash advances and balance inquiries

To take advantage of this service, when members enter a shared branch they only need to bring:

  • Their home credit union's name
  • Their account number
  • Photo identification

Credit Disability Insurance

It happens. People get sick or hurt, end up in the hospital, and have to take time off from work. Even with good benefit packages, bills do mount up. With credit disability insurance, your credit union loans are paid automatically until you are on your feet again. (Does not cover the first 30 days you are out on disability. Call the office about other restrictions.)

For a minimal cost, you can protect yourself, your family, and your credit record. Call us or stop by a credit union office to find out about this low-cost protection for your family and your credit union loans.

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) Insurance

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) is a voluntary program that we offer for your new or used auto loan. This financial protection covers the difference in the balance on a car and its declared value in the event that it is damaged beyond repair or stolen and never recovered.

No matter how terrific a car is, the minute you drive it out of the showroom it is worth less. Depending on where you live, the established market value could be less than the actual balance you owe on your car. With GAP Insurance, if your car is a loss, the deficiency will be covered. That includes the difference between the market value of the car and the loan balance, less delinquent payments, late charges, refundable warranties, and other insurance related charges. It will also cover the insurance deductible up to $1,000 if a deficiency exists.

When you are applying for your auto loan, ask about GAP Insurance. If you have questions, please call your UFCW of America Federal Credit Union Loan Department. We'll be glad to explain.
